What led me up to this decision was kinda crazy but here is my new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. About 8 weeks ago I fell and got badly injured in the back of my showroom building causing multiple tears to my ligaments in my ankle. As a result I was not able to continue to drive my Shelby GT350 anymore because of the intense pain with controlling all 3 pedals. I needed a break from the Shelby and I have been saying this for almost 9 months that I need a more practical car to drive daily but my criteria is very specific. I wanted a 4 door sedan, it had to be very high performance, had to be unique, well enough for where I live and it had to have soul. I had considered the Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V which are both incredible cars and some of the best in this segment. The issue with Cadillac is there is no excitement with the brand or the V series, they failed miserably in marketing their cars and they automatic gearboxes are just terrible by all standards today in a performance car. Low and behold Cadillac has not discontinued these models due to lack of sales of the platform model ranges. It seems today Cadillacs bread and butter is their SUV and Escalade markets and now it is a shame their V series just does not hold any excitement in the segment of BMW M and AMG and Audi RS models.  Fast forward to 2017 and here comes Alfa Romeo with the new Giulia Quadrifoglio which was a serious contender and  I will discuss why. Every journalist all over the globe praised the car, calling it better than the M3 and AMG across the pond. Then there were the quality control and quirks this car came with and that is to be expected of a full revamp of the Alfa Romeo brand to enter the US market in over 25 years. I will say I had the chance to drive some of those early cars and was turned off by many things and moved on. The 2018 models have had many revisions that address all of those concerns and the now the car is truly amazing.

I often order cars for my clients each year they always ask me to spec and do all the legwork for them since they are so busy ruling the world in their business ventures. This particular car was special ordered by me for a client in PA. He never claimed the car and when we chatted I told him I was looking to get one he said why don’t you take my car and Il order another one. Well this was an opportunity that I did not believe would even happen but this client has 200+ cars and honestly was in no rush to add this to his collection. What was great is that i ordered this car exactly how I would want it in January 2018 and it arrived in July 2018 to the dealership. I did all the paperwork by Fed Ex and had the car transported 1 week later to my home.

I discuss many things about this car in my 1st review video on my channel which will be posted below. Few key things I want to point out before you watch that video and why I bought this car.

  1. Top engineers from Ferrari engineered and designed this cars chassis, suspension and driveline.
  2. The engine is manufactured in Ferraris Maranello factory and all castings and assembly are done by hand.
  3. The car is made of 85% aluminum, doors, trunk, driveline and suspension, all castings done at Ferrari’s aluminum foundry in Maranello for all component parts.
  4. Carbon fiber is used for the hood, roof, driveshaft, Sparco race seats and more.
  5. The car is the lightest in this segment of performance car.
  6. The car drives and feels like a true Ferrari sports car with the sharpest chassis and steering in it’s class.
  7. The cars sound is pure Ferrari soul at every RPM because the DNA is a Ferrari 488 engine platform.
  8. The engine is based on the Ferrari 488 and Portofino, My Shelby engine was modeled after the Ferrari 458.
  9. The cars shape and aerodynamics were perfected in Ferrari F1 wind tunnel.
  10. The car has active aerodynamics throughout its design.
  11. the 8 Speed ZF gearbox is programmed so well you would think it was a true dual clutch.
  12. Over 9 billion dollars was pumped into FCA to develop the Giulia and Stelvio with a new factory in Cassina.

Watch my full video as I discuss why this car is important and why it appeals to a real driving enthusiast like myself. I have been around high performance exotics for over 25 years and this car truly delivers the punch to the segment.

Forged Technico Staggered Wheels with Pirelli CorsaTires, Alfa Rosso Brembo Brake Calipers add a nice visual

Full Active aero and rear diffuser was developed in Ferrari F1 wind tunnel

Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps added by me to enhance the visual of the OEM carbon accents on the cars exterior

The Quadrifoglio logo is very significant please take time to research this history to appreciate the cars heritage.

The interior is pure Italian in design all covered in Poltrana Frau leather and Alcantara.

The carbon Sparco seats are a must and are so comfortable and easier to get in and out of than the standard seat. These seats fit me like a glove and are better than any other OEM Recaro seat I ever owned.
